Friction Reducers
DPAM Series
Friction reducers of anionic and cationic hydration quick Solid (powder) for saline brines.
DPAM Series is a fast-hydrating, high-performance dry friction reducer (DFR) for stimulation fluids in both fresh water and brines with low to medium salinity. With a low dosage (1 to 2 pptg), it reduces friction pressure in excess of 70%. As a solid powder product, DPAM Series has significant logistic and storage benefits. It’s also advantageous in economic and environmental considerations versus conventional emulsion-based friction reducers, since it has no organic solvents or harsh surfactant chemicals, unlike in emulsion-type (EPAM) products. It hydrates rapidly in fresh water and in typical light brine solutions to achieve maximum performance in less than a minute. This is particularly useful for well stimulation where additions by “on-the-fly” operations are demanded. This dry friction reducer can be fully activated when mixed with fresh water or moderate salinity brines.

Friction reducers anionic and cationic emulsion for saline brines.
EPAM Series is an ultra-high salinity tolerant liquid-based friction reducer that is specifically designed as an additive to very heavy brines or return fracturing fluids. Additions of small amounts of EPAM Series (typically, 0.25 - 1 gpt) in hydraulic fracturing fluid can reduce the friction pressure by up to 70% in less than one minute. EPAM Series is a high molecular weight, partially hydrolyzed anionic PAM- copolymer. Alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APE) and nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE) are excluded from the ingredients, which makes EPAM Series more environmentally benign than other emulsion products. As an emulsion-type product, EPAM Series inverts rapidly even in high TDS or poor quality water. Applications are versatile through continuous additions to stimulation fluids by “on-the-fly” method or batch mixing before treatments.
